For each kit purchased another is given to a low decile school in New Zealand, our mission is to empower the next generation to be positive change makers using the SDGs as their framework.
Within each Kit are all the materials you need host a Bead and Proceed workshop for you and six of your friends, family, classroom or colleagues. each kit includes the below materials, all you need is to send the calendar invite and set aside three hours for this truly enlightening and creative experience.
The Bead and Proceed Roadmap - your guide to immersing yourself in the SDGs. This includes all the resources you need to have fun, make your necklace and come away empowered to take action towards the UN 17 SDGs;
Wooden beads (5 beads per person);
Thread to make your adjustable necklace;
Paint brushes and paint stakes (to help paint your beads); and
Paint (8 colors -all you need to paint any of the 17 SDGs) Using SDG aligned suppliers is important to us and that’s why our Kits are made with love by Silence, a fair trade organisation and partner of Trade Aid. Silence is located in Kolkata, India and employs adults with physical and mental disabilities, providing them with decent work and income. Silence is a self-help movement for those who can neither speak nor hear, except visually, and others who cannot go anywhere, except in their imagination, and yet who aspire towards self-sufficiency and acceptance as contributing members of the Society.
Bead and Proceed is also proud to have partnered with The Natural Paint Co. a local company who's beautiful natural paint strives to do as little harm to the planet as possible. Their paint is free from heavy metals and other toxic chemicals and for every square meter of paint painted, The Natural Paint Co saves a one square meter of rainforest.
